Meditation has been used throughout centuries to help people focus on the here and now. According to Eastern Philosophy, both the past and the future only  “exist” in our imagination. The “here and now” is all that really is.

Mindfulness Meditation has been used successfully around the world in the treatment of stress and anxiety.

Its principle is very simple: bring your awareness to the present moment and you will notice that you are not your thoughts. Thoughts are impermanent: they arise and they pass away if we don’t engage with them. This simple fact can make us aware of the thoughts that are beneficial, the ones that are not so beneficial and give us the space and the freedom to choose.

On the practical level Mindfulness Meditation helps to improve concentration and focus, and also improves creativity.

I would like to say thanks for your teachings over the last year and a half. I have had had a few events this year that in the past would have me consumed with worry but I have used all the meditation skills you have taught me and feel that this has helped cement it into my daily life.

Join Ana for three hours of mindfulness practice and inspiration while exploring Buddhist teachings through writing, drawing and meditations.

During the workshop we will observe Noble Silence.

This workshop is suitable for anyone with some experience in mindfulness meditation and able to sit without guidance for 20-min.

Bring a small notebook and pen, two thin cushions, a bottle of water and warm clothes for walking meditation outdoors (weather permitting).

INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS MEDITATION FOR TEENS WORKSHOP

Mindfulness meditation can help us to understand that we are not our thoughts and are able to have some relief by taking a step back into the present moment in times of high mental activity or stress.

This workshop has been developed specifically for teenagers with some simple relaxation and meditation tools that will support them in dealing with the growing pressures from school work, exams and relationships.
